Florida College’s campus is located in Temple Terrace, Florida, surrounded by a variety of exciting things to do. The nearby Tampa Bay area is a great place to see concerts, Broadway shows and professional sports teams. In just an hour, you can drive to beautiful Gulf beaches or one of Orlando’s famous theme parks.

Members of the Student Body Government Association frequently plan school-wide events that take advantage of these exciting off-campus attractions. Florida College students can look forward to annual SBGA events that include an elegant spring banquet, a student-led devotional on the beach at Fort De Soto Park, a Florida College spirit night at the nearest Chick-fil-A restaurant, a discounted trip to one of Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks and so much more.

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

Go kayaking, take a Riverboat cruise and more at the Weeki Wachee River. Florida weather is perfect this time of year for an outdoor excursion. Reservations are required for boating experiences. 

Sparkman Wharf

Enjoy outdoor food trucks, live music, games and a view of the Garrison Channel in Downtown Tampa. Sparksman Wharf is located beside Amelia Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightening, and The Florida Aquarium.

The Manatee Viewing Center

Tampa Electric provides a free manatee viewing center in Apollo Beach. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the tables at the base of the observation tower. And on clear days, see all the way across Tampa Bay!

Busch Gardens

Only three minutes from Florida College, Busch Gardens was voted “Top 10 Amusement Parks” by USA Today. From roller coasters to animal encounters, this is a Temple Terrace must-do.

Parkesdale Market

It’s strawberry season! Parkesdale Market is home to famous strawberry shortcake, strawberry milkshakes and strawberry ice cream.

Armature Works

This indoor food hall will ensure the whole family enjoys their favorites with selections from over 10 food and dessert vendors! Located on the Riverwalk, Armature Works gives the perfect view of Downtown Tampa.

Disney Springs

Disney can be expensive; however, Disney Springs is free! Enjoy delicious restaurants, shopping, bowling or a movie with a touch of Disney magic.
