COVID-19 Polices and Procedures 2022
COVID-19 pandemic is still of concern in our local communities, and around the world.
The college will not require the vaccine, but we are shifting away from managing community care and asking individuals to be responsible for their wellness. That means vaccination is still the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.
All three vaccines are readily available in Tampa and vaccination will minimize disruption to your FC experience.
To confidentially notify FC of your vaccination status, you can upload your vaccination card here. We will continue to recommend quarantine for unvaccinated individuals who are exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID-19. This will be 5 days isolation followed by a negative test. Students will be allowed to quarantine or isolate in their residence hall. We do not plan to provide housing accommodations for quarantine or isolation. In addition, faculty understand that students may need to miss class for quarantine or isolation, but courses this year are not necessarily designed for remote learning. This means students will be responsible for keeping up with their studies while away from class.
Vaccine and Quarantine Policy
The Covid-19 vaccine will not be required. However, according to CDC guidance, the vaccine exempts students from the need to quarantine if exposed. The vaccine and quarantine guidelines are below.
- If you have been vaccinated, you do not have to quarantine (provided you do not get Covid yourself) โฆbut you would have to show proof you have been vaccinated (not required, just recommended) in order not to quarantine.
- If you can provide a recent antibodies positive test (within 3 months, per CDC), you do not have to quarantine (provided you do not get Covid yourself).
- If you become exposed to Covid and cannot provide the above 2, according to CDC guidelines, you should quarantine for 5 days and then test yourself, or wear a mask for 5 days if quarantine is not possible.
