Reference
A reference database that contains encyclopedias, almanacs, dictionaries, and many other basic reference works. The Concept Map is a useful feature for discovering other terms related to your search term.
An online version of the print publication. It contains both traditional encyclopedia articles and photos, video and audio clips, and links. Also available are the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus. MLA citation information is available at the bottom of each article.
Issues & Controversies explores and analyzes hundreds of hot topics in politics, business, government, crime, law, energy, education, health, family, science, foreign policy, race, rights, society, and culture.
Allows students to search several databases, including WorldCat (books in libraries across the world), ArticleFirst (indexes articles from selected journals), ERIC, and more. References are not full-text.

Gale Databases
List of all Gale collections and databases accessible to Florida College students, faculty, and staff.
Literature Criticism Online collects and organizes literary commentary representing a variety of genres, time periods, and nationalities. Compiled by professional literature researchers and other subject matter experts, each entry focuses on an author, work, or topic and includes critical essays, reviews, and other materials reprinted from periodicals, scholarly journals, monographs, and books that are specially selected to provide a representative range of viewpoints and a chronological record of the critical responses.
Established in 1997, JSTOR’s first collection includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Arts & Sciences III includes journals in languages and literature, as well as titles in the fields of music, film studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, women’s studies, and the history and study of art and architecture.
Gale’s Literary Index provides quick and easy access to author and title listings from over 130 literature products from Gale. The referenced products themselves will contain complete biographies on authors and critical essays on their writings.
MEDLINE with Full Text provides the authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and pre-clinical sciences found on MEDLINE, plus the database provides full text for more than 1,470 journals indexed in MEDLINE. Of those, nearly 1,450 have cover-to-cover indexing in MEDLINE. And of those, 558 are not found with full text in any version of Academic Search, Health Source or Biomedical Reference Collection.
This is a general database, like Academic Search Ultimate, and allows you to search for academic articles and generals across multiple different sources.

Find current and archived articles on issues, events, people, government, and more with the world’s largest collection of state, regional, national, and international full-text newspapers and other news sources.
Newspaper Source provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 40 (U.S.) & international newspapers. The database also contains selective full text for 389 regional (U.S.) newspapers. In addition, full text television & radio news transcripts are also provided.

Library Music Source
Contains the largest collection of Western Classical sheet music ever assembled. Users have access and command of over 300,000 pages of sheet music from over 35,000 works including the entire piano works of Chopin, all the songs of Schubert, all the organ music of J. S. Bach, and all the orchestra parts and scores of Beethoven, to cite only a few examples. Users can access the complete or nearly complete published works of the world’s great composers for orchestra, chamber ensemble, piano, organ, voice, chorus, strings, winds, percussion, and guitar.

More than 37 periodicals and twelve lectureship proceedings issued by members of the churches of Christ are included in the Restoration Serials Index.
ERIC (Education)
ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and research. The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. Content includes journal articles, research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, conference papers, dissertations and theses, and books dating back to 1966.
Florida Electronic Library
The Florida Electronic Library is a gateway to select Internet resources that offers access to comprehensive, accurate, and reliable information. Available resources include electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, and books, providing information on topics such as current events, education, business, technology, and health issues.
Florida Digital Newspaper Library
The Florida Digital Newspaper Library exists to provide access to the news and history of Florida. All of the over 1,000,000 pages of historic through current Florida newspapers in the Florida Digital Newspaper Library are openly and freely available with zoomable page images and full text. The Florida Digital Newspaper Library builds on the work done in microfilm within the Florida Newspaper Project.
