Student Complaint Process

Florida College provides several means through which a student may address complaints and grievances. In order to resolve academic grievances, complaints, and concerns in an expeditious, fair, and amicable manner, students are asked to consult their respectiveโ€ฏcollege catalog or student handbookโ€ฏfor information on the appropriate grievance procedures. The link above provides the current academic catalog for Florida College. Students are urged to exhaust all possible internal avenues for resolution before filing complaints with external agencies.ย 

In the unlikely event that an issue cannot be resolved internally, students may file a complaint with the following external agencies:ย 

  1. Regional Accreditor:โ€ฏSouthern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Collegesโ€ฏ(SACSCOC), 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 Telephone (404) 679-4500. The link above provides information on the SACSCOC complaint policies and procedures.ย 
  2. State Licensing Authorities:โ€ฏย Before contacting the State Division of Florida Colleges, please readย the Florida Collegeย policies and procedures for filing complaintsย located in theย college catalog.ย If the issue remains unresolved students may use the followingย linkย to file a complaint with the Florida Department of Education.ย 
    If you are residing outside of Florida while attending Florida College, in many cases you can file a complaint with an agency within your state of residence. The following link provides a list ofโ€ฏstate agencies for filing student complaints and contact information.ย
