Music Professor

Florida College is Seeking a Full-Time, Tenure-Track Professor of Music

Florida College is a private, independent liberal arts college, providing a comprehensive college experience designed to develop students spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially by integrating into the students’ lives the Bible as the revealed will of God in order to prepare students for lives of service to their Creator and to humanity.

All qualified applicants for this position must be Christians and be active, faithful members of a church of Christ and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the college.

The Department of Music is known for its teaching excellence and is committed to the college’s mission and relevancy in the 21st century. To facilitate continued growth, the Department is seeking a visionary faculty member, with open specialization. The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in music. Individuals with a master’s degree in music will be considered. This is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position, beginning August 1, 2021. The successful candidate is expected to become an exceptional teacher who values mentoring and advising students. This will involve teaching an average of fifteen contact hours each semester, advising several students, and serving the college on faculty committees. The faculty member will also engage in service and scholarly activity with an interest in continued growth and enhancement of the department’s participation in Florida College’s academic programs.
