The newly rebranded Ohio Valley chapter of the The Hutchinson Bell hosted its first Jingle Bell 5K on Saturday, Dec. 5. This was the first race sponsored by a local chapter of The Bell, and it was a great success!
The race boasted more than 100 participants and raised a total of $2,000 for the chapter. Participants donned festive holiday costumes to run the 3-mile course in below freezing temperatures. Even Santa Claus showed up to join the fun and spread some holiday cheer!
Adam Olson, Florida College’s director of alumni relations and the president of The Hutchinson Bell, was also able to participate in the race.
“It was a privilege, albeit a frozen one, to participate with our Ohio Valley chapter in this great event,” Adam said. “The chapter has undergone very positive change in the last year, and the progress of their efforts is evidenced in the success of the 5K. Many thanks to President Mike Clemons, race organizers Sarah Rice and Rachel Clemons, and the other volunteers on this wonderful event!”
Florida College would like to thank the dedicated volunteers and participants who helped make the first-ever Jingle Bell 5K such a success!
