Organizations and Activities

There are six intramural societies at Florida College. They offer the fun, camaraderie, social identity and, of course, Greek letters of any good college scene–without the partying, hazing, or other destructive behaviors associated with “Greek life.”

The societies compete against each other with their participation and performance in the following areas:

  • Athletic games
  • Midnight Madness
  • Academic grades
  • Meeting attendance
  • Phone-a-thon fundraiser
  • Community service (including blood drives and coastal cleanup)

Each society typically has eight leaders–a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, male and female athletic director, spirit leader, and historian. The spirit leader stirs up the crowd at sporting events, leads cheers, and is heavily involved in the yearly Midnight Madness event. The historian takes photographs and records the activities and statistics of their society throughout the year.
