Florida College’s first-ever #GivingTuesday event was an outstanding success, with over $260,000 raised in one day thanks to generous gifts from more than 250 donors! We were amazed by the support we received on #GivingTuesday, and our success is ultimately a testament to the giving spirit of our alumni and friends across the nation!
Here’s a breakdown of our success:
A total of 255 donors made gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015.
Those gifts totaled $165,196.34, exceeding our $100,000 goal.
Including the matching gift, we raised $265,196.34 in just one day.
The average gift was $648.
The Florida College Society stepped up in a big way, with 104 members making gifts.
A total of 28 four-year graduates made gifts, moving us closer to regaining our top-ranked position on U.S. News and World Report’s list of schools where the most alumni donate.
Florida was the state with the most participants, with a total of 83 donors.
The largest gift, not including the matching gift, was a stock gift of $20,037.35.
The smallest gift was $3.
A total of 52 donors gave $100, making it the most common amount to give.
Students in the James R. Cope Adopt Program will benefit from $50,000 of the total amount raised on #GivingTuesday.
One donor made a gift of $250.99.
The most common time to give was between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. EST, with 55 gifts made during that time.
A total of 237 donors made their gifts online.
But the #GivingTuesday movement is about so much more than the numbers. We would like to thank everyone who supported our cause and gave back in some way on #GivingTuesday. However you chose to participate, thank you for your help in making #GivingTuesday at Florida College a success!
