Frequently Asked Questions

Important to remember is that the tours are designed for students and may require more walking and climbing than on a more adult-oriented tour. Having said that, the last tour led by Doug and Becky Barlar included participants from age 17 to 75 and all seemed to have a great time.

When will we know about the hotels where we will be staying?

Accommodation details are usually made available a few days prior to departure. Most rooms are equipped with twin beds. European accommodations tend to be smaller and there are fewer elevators.

Will we be traveling alone or with another group?

This is a custom tour designed just for us so we will travel with only our group. Your roommate(s) will be from our group. There will be, of course, lots of other people on the planes, train, and ship.

Can students receive college credit for going on this trip?

Yes, if they enroll in the corresponding travel course offered in the spring. Students who enroll in the course and satisfy the course requirements will receive 3 hours of humanities credit that may be used toward Florida College’s general education requirements. The only additional cost for this course is the regular credit-hour fee assessed for students enrolled in over 16 hours. Transfer institutions have accepted this course as literature, humanities, and /or elective credit, depending on the institution and the student’s major. Any student planning to use this course for general education requirements at another institution should check with that institution.

Can I get a refund if I have to cancel?

EF’s cancellation and refund policy depends upon the circumstances of your cancellation. In most cases, you can receive a partial refund, minus the $95.00 registration fee. This will depend on when you cancel, the circumstances, and whether or not there are people who can take your place. EF also strongly recommends their All-Inclusive Insurance Plan which includes Tour Cancellation and Interruption Insurance, Medical and Accident Insurance, Baggage and Property Insurance, Flight Delay Insurance, and 24-hour Emergency Assistance for just $145.

Do I have to have all of the money up front?

There are some financial benefits for you personally and to the group for early enrollment but payments can be made on a monthly plan.
