Mitchell Twins Sign With Florida College

The Florida College Falcons just signed two recruits for the upcoming basketball season—recruits very familiar to Head Coach Robb Mitchell ’91. Mitchell's twin nephews, Jordan and Justin Mitchell, signed scholarship agreements recently, becoming the newest members of the FC basketball program. “I expect both of them to be great additions to the school first, but also to our basketball program. Over the years, they have enjoyed tremendous success, on and off the floor,” says Coach Mitchell. Both Mitchells graduated with over a 4.0 and finished near the top of their class at Wesley Chapel (Fla.) High School. During their senior season, they took leadership roles on the team. Because the team had little experience, Coach Doug Greseth chose to have Justin run the point guard position—a first in the 6'4" player's career. According to Coach Mitchell, “Dealing with that pressure alone will help him tremendously.” With Justin managing the offense from the point, Jordan, also 6'4", was able to carry the team with his scoring. On the season, he averaged more than 20 points a game. “Jordan has a great feel for putting the ball in the hole,” says his proud uncle. “We hope that he can continue that on the college level.” It is entirely possible that there’s at least one person more excited about this signing than the twins themselves—at least, you might think so after talking with Coach Mitchell. To say that he is looking forward to coaching his nephews is something of an understatement: “I am so proud of the young men that they have become spiritually, mentally, and physically. It will be a blast watching them continue to grow for the next four years.” |
