Yearbook Dedicated to
Dr. C.G. “Colly” Caldwell
Every year the Royal Palm yearbook is dedicated to a member of the Florida College faculty or administration chosen by the yearbook staff. The 2008-2009 yearbook was dedicated to outgoing president Dr. C.G. “Colly” Caldwell ’64.
Making the presentation were students Daniel Lankford, Dickson, Tenn., Brian Harber, Goodlettsville, Tenn., Jared Acuff, Lakeland, Fla., and alumnus Jady Copeland ’07. The quartet reenacted the famous “Hi-Lo’s” singing group—of which Caldwell was once a member.
The oddly trousered troupe announced the dedication after singing various songs in the Hi-Lo style, including a barbershop rendition of FC’s alma mater and a special song written for Caldwell to the tune of the Folgers Coffee jingle.
The written dedication lauds Caldwell for making “a lasting impact on this school,” and for his “humility, perseverance, and dedication” encouraging faculty and students alike.
The current school year will be Caldwell’s last as president.
