A Short History of the Florida College Website

Come take a short walk with us through internet time and see how the Florida College website has changed and grown through the years...

1996

Back in the 90's the internet was just beginning and dial-up was king. Websites were mostly short brochures with simple text and a few pictures.

Our early website featured a clean, easy-to-read homepage topped with a slideshow of our campus. Quite impressive for 1996!

1997

In 1997 our website went through a minor face-lift and inherited its first site-wide menu: a convenient, always-available navigation bar on the left-hand side of the page.

1998

1998 built on the success of the previous year's website. The site-wide menu and familiar two-column layout remained, but a fresh coat of richer color, crisper fonts, and higher-quality pictures graced the home page.

In addition to the cosmetic changes, the 1998 website included a "tour" of the campus and, for the first time ever, the FC Bookstore published its entire catalog online.

2003

2003 was a milestone year for our website. Suddenly no longer a simple informational brochure, our website was a sophisticated internet application complete with news updates, calendars, and faculty and staff directories. As time passed the website grew to include an alumni directory, full-motion video of teachers and students, and the ability to make online payments and gifts.

2007

In May of 2007 we streamlined our layout and organization to create the site you see today.
