Life Enrichment Series Presents
“Music and the Arts”
The Life Enrichment Series will present pianist Leonidas Lipovetsky in a lecture-recital on
“Music and the Arts” on Thursday evening, October 2, at 7:30 PM in Puckett Auditorium.
Mr. Lipovetsky is a native of Uruguay, South America, who received his bachelors and masters
from the Juilliard School of Music in New York. He has performed recitals on four continents
and performed with major symphony orchestras in 11 countries. He spent over 30 years teaching
piano at Florida State University.
This will be a humanities-based presentation. Mr. Lipovetsky will use power point to demonstrate
the correlation between music and the visual arts and our spoken and written language. He will
perform works by Haydn, Beethoven, Schumann and Prokofieff. He has presented this program to
school districts, colleges and universities and museums throughout the US and abroad, as well
as recording it for broadcast on PBS networks.
