Coach Rich Leggatt

Rich Leggatt took on the head coaching duties for the FC Falcons baseball team in the Fall of 2005. Before then Rich served as the Falcon’s assistant and pitching coach. Coach Leggatt’s baseball experience is extensive. After a distinguished amateur career, Coach Leggatt started his professional baseball career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1978 and spent the next ten years playing professionally for various teams including the Pirates, the Atlanta Braves, and the Minnesota Twins. Coach Leggatt earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Florida College in 2002 and then went on to complete a Master's degree in Physical Education at the University of South Florida in 2007.

After finishing his baseball career in 1987, Rich and his wife, Melissa, chose to settle in Tampa, FL and raise their three children (Holly who graduated from FC in ‘06, Jessy who will be starting her 2nd year at FC this fall, and Taylor who is now an 11th grader at Seffner Christian Academy). Coach Leggatt also serves as a deacon at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ.
