Women’s soccer defeated by Georgia Southwestern

The Lady Falcon soccer team played Georgia Southwestern (Americus, Ga.) on Saturday,
September 13 in a home afternoon game. Georgia Southwestern players Brittney Hill
and Kahlila Lincoln scored each scored one goal on FC. Florida College sophomore
Katie Hudson had seven saves as keeper. Katee Puterbaugh scored the only goal for
Florida College off a corner kick from Brittany McNabb. Overall, the team is seeing
improvement. Head coach Matt Pelillo has been impressed with the women’s team. “We
had a nice showing – we played soccer for ninety minutes,” said Pelillo. Freshman
“LJ” Fuentes is playing her first year of soccer as a quick forward and midfielder.
“We worked better as a team today. Our passes were great. Its vicious-like a lion’s
den at feeding time,” said Fuentes.

Florida College women soccer plays again Friday, September 19 against the College
of the Bahamas at 5:00 PM in Temple Terrace.
