Lady Falcons have successful evening vs. SJRCC

Freshman Jenny Moorer gets a dig against St. John's River Community College October 6.

The volleyball team (13-3) was in action Tuesday evening against St. John’s River Community College (3-19). The Lady Falcons lost the first two points of the first match, but never looked back, winning all three games (25-10, 25-15, 25-14).

Freshman Kerri Taylor led the team in kills with fourteen and freshman Alison Bonner had six. Junior Josie Ratliff had 22 assists.

Freshman Sami Stokes had two blocks. “I think the team communicated very well and we were able to allow each person to do their job,” said Stokes.

Head coach Donna Parimore ’83 was especially pleased with the team. “In light of our team’s recent flu sickness and the fact that we sat out a week, we did well,” said Parimore. Looking ahead to the tournament at Clearwater Christian College, she said, “This weekend should be a telltale sign of what we are made of.”

At the Clearwater Christian Tournament October 9–10, the team will play five matches over two days. The full schedule can be seen here. Their next home game is Tuesday evening against Southeastern University (5-11) at 7:00 PM.
