Applying to Florida College FAQWhat are the application deadlines?Application materials must reach the Office of Admissions by August 1 for fall enrollment and December 1 for spring enrollment to avoid late fees. What do I need to send in order to be considered for admission?Applicants will be considered for admission when the Office of Admissions receives a completed application, the $30 application fee in the form of a personal check or money order payable to Florida College, an educational reference form, a religious reference form and official transcripts for all high school work and any college work already completed. What high school courses are required if I want to go to Florida College?Four years of English, 3 years of math (algebra 1 and higher), 2 years of social sciences, 2 years of lab sciences plus four other units of academic courses such as languages, more math, social sciences, psychology, sociology, etc. Languages are not required, but strongly recommended. These are minimum requirements. See admission requirements for more information. What standardized tests are required for applicants?Florida College requires students to take the ACT or SAT exam, and we recommend taking them more than once. Your scores, along with your grades and courses taken in high school, are used for placement in English and math courses and to award academic scholarships. How will my AP classes be treated?Florida College awards three credit hours for an AP exam score of 3 and six credit hours for a score of 4 or 5. How do I request my AP transcripts?Florida College's school code is 5216. You can contact the Advanced Placement office at: AP Services Do you accept home schooled students?Absolutely. We welcome home school, public school, and private school students alike. Except for a short one-page document we ask home schooled students to sign, our Admissions procedure for home school students is exactly the same as it is for everyone else. Home schooled students can apply for admission here. How soon will I find out if I am accepted?Staff in the Office of Admissions sends the acceptance letter out on the day all necessary completed paperwork is received. Students will likely be informed of their acceptance within two to three weeks of receipt of all five documents (see above). If you have a question we didn't answer, our Admissions team is glad to help. |
