On Monday, February 3, Rob and Maureen Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colo. were awarded Florida College’s 2014 Friend to Youth Award.

The Taylors have given the College their financial support through the Adopt Program, the Scholarship Partner Program, the Florida College Athletics Association, and many other ways. They have also been active members of the Colorado Springs Booster Club and have served as co-directors of the Colorado Booster Camp as a part of their mission to spread the word about Florida College in the Colorado area and positively influence young lives.

They became even more resolved in this mission as they began sending their daughters to Florida College.

Emily ’04, Kaitlin ’06, Molly ’09 and Kerri ’13 all received bachelor’s degrees and were thoroughly involved in their alma mater’s music and athletics programs, participating in countless chorus and drama productions and helping the Falcons amass a combined seven USCAA National Championships in volleyball.

Coincidentally, this is the first year since 2000 that a Taylor has not been enrolled in the College. But the Taylors’ commitment to Florida College remains, and they continue to offer their support. Rob currently serves as regional committee chair for the Akin Building Renovation Project, and recently agreed to serve on the advisory council for the newly established association for alumni and friends, The Hutchinson Bell.

Florida College is deeply indebted to Rob and Maureen Taylor for their constant dedication and support, and is proud to award them the 2014 Friend to Youth Award.
