Jenna Sink Honored As Presidential Scholar
On November 9 at the Chicagoland Booster Club’s presidential meeting in Sugar Grove, Ill., high school senior Jenna Sink received a four-year, full-tuition Florida College scholarship for her designation as a Presidential Merit Scholar.
The presidential scholar designation is the highest academic honor given to a student entering Florida College, and recognizes students’ academic ability, the rigor of their course work, extracurricular involvement and community service. Within this grouping lies the additional designation of Presidential Merit Scholar. An estimated 1.5 million students enter this program every year; of that number, 16,000 (roughly 1%) are selected as either a finalist or semifinalist. Academically, these outstanding students are truly the best of the best.
The announcement came at the conclusion of the Chicagoland Booster Club meeting, of which Jenna’s uncle, Bill Sink, is president, and was a complete surprise to Jenna. In honor of this accomplishment, admissions counselor Saif Alsafeer, who accompanied President Payne, presented Jenna with a certificate and a Bible.
Florida College congratulates Jenna Sink on this tremendous accomplishment, and eagerly awaits her arrival in the fall.
