Mitchells, Parimore Honored in Seniors Ceremony
During the final men’s basketball game of the season, seniors Jordan Mitchell, Justin Mitchell and Austin Parimore received recognition for their four years as student athletes.
Both sets of bleachers were packed well before tip-off as hundreds of students, faculty, staff and members of the Temple Terrace community came out to honor the three senior captains. The game, a “red-out”, hosted the College’s trademark “red sea” student section, which roared continuously as the Falcons defeated Pasco-Hernando Community College, finishing their season at 16-14.
Jordan Mitchell of Zephyrhills, Fla. achieved the USCAA’s recognitions as a 2011 All-American and three-time Academic All-American. He played in 94 games and accumulated 1,316 career points, 414 rebounds, 126 assists and 91 steals. He also led this season in scoring, averaging a career 13.8 ppg.
Justin Mitchell of Zephyrhills, Fla. was also a three-time recipient of the USCAA’s Academic All-American award. He played in 99 games and accumulated 600 points, 321 rebounds and 86 assists.
Austin Parimore of Temple Terrace, Fla. also achieved three consecutive USCAA Academic All-American honors. He played in 104 games and accumulated 195 points, 221 rebounds, 292 assists and 151 steals.
During halftime, the three senior Lady Falcons, Jenny Moorer (Temple Terrace, Fla.), Courtney Bruns (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Kerri Taylor (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were honored for their contributions to the College’s women’s basketball program just two years in the making. The Lady Falcons are currently finishing their season on a six-day road trip.
